Things I am Totally Digging about the New Place:
- Garbage pick up twice a week.
- Listening to the Mister sing along with Fleetwood Mac when he doesn’t know I’m listening.
- High Temperature at the New Place today: 65; High at the Old Place today: 81.
- The local wine store will stay open beyond regular business hours if you call and tell them you are running late.
- The phone doesn’t ring every fifteen minutes.
- Even the local wild life is relaxed
- I no longer have a mountain of boxes in the center of the living room. Now, they’re broken down in the garage
- Eating lunch on the deck, while watching the birds. Yes, I’m boring.
- Being within walking distance from places like this:

Twice a week?
there is a god!

Twice a week? That’s remarkable. Who generates that much trash to need pickup twice a week though? Did you move to an old farts home?

packing me bags for a visit.

Gosh that’s beautiful!!! I’m jealous!

Just wow at the walking distance views!
Does it feel like home? That’s what I waited for when we moved here, to see if it had that feeling. It did. More than anywhere before. I hope it does for you.

Amazing. Totally worth the headache of moving. I don’t think I’d ever leave!

is that a squirrel? It’s pretty meaty looking.
Soon you will be inundated with mortgage refinancing calls for having had recent mortgage activity. It’s been a good excuse for me to just have the phone roll over to the answering machine, but really…
Pretty soon, I’d be the wino who cried wolf. I’d make that “just in case” call at ten of every night.

meno, if you’re looking for him, he drives a big green truck that has a, “honk if you love jesus” sticker on the back.
egan, after all the packing materials are disposed of, the Mister and I could get by on garbage pickup once every three weeks. The idea of twice a week is just so quaint.
crazymumma, your room will be ready soon.
sari, more pictures will bee forthcoming.
Maggie, it is home. I’m will be visiting the old place at the end of the month, and I suspect I will feel more like a guest than a native.
nancy, I never considered that it wouldn’t be worth it. The area felt right when I saw it the first time two years ago…I do have a spare bedroom.
De, I don’t think that squirrel should expect to live to long. In addition to a family history of heart disease and high blood pressure, he spent forty minutes draped across the tree limb. Knowing the wine store is on call is usually enough to get me through the night.

Oh, you lucky girl, thats a beautiful new home you have. I would ADORE having a walk like that.
May 17th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
It sounds like you’ve found a slice of heaven. Can’t believe you’ve already unpacked…I was still finding unpacked boxes 1 year after we moved.
May 18th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
honey. i will stop calling. swear.
AND
do i need to call you about calling a wine shop???
May 18th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
rachel, we are really lucky to be in a nature oriented community, and yet only ten minutes from civilization if we need something important, like band aids, or a plunger.
Lynn, actually there are two boxes form two moves ago that haven’t and won’t be unpacked. The Mister isn’t ready to part with them yet.
But,Liv, I always answer your calls. I haven’t a reason to put the wine shop on speed dial, yet.

So beautiful! I would love to be in a more outdoorsy community like that. Just gorgeous.
That is one freaking huge squirrel. I am a little intimidated by it although it doesn’t look like it would be too fast.

andrea, I think the squirrel is reaping the benefits of living in a bird sanctuary. If he knew the Mister’s reputation, he wouldn’t have been so relaxed.

That is so pretty. And yet, once again, I realize how much of a city girl I am. I’m Type A, give me a highrise, lots of traffic Type A. I am missing something to be sure. I really do think those photos are breathtaking and hope to become a bit more inspired by nature.
